ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -  Nasir Javed Rana, the district and sessions judge, has been elevated to the rank and appointed as the Judge of the accountability court of Islamabad.

The Ministry of Law and Justice has released the notification of Judge Nasir Javed Rana’s appointment.

The Grade-21 judge has been appointed on deputation for three years. He will serve as a judge of accountability court number 1 until January 23, 2027.

Before him, Judge Muhammad Bashir was performing his duty as a judge of the accountability court in Islamabad. However, the former judge has taken leave and will be retiring from his office on March 14.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana has assumed the office in the absence of Judge Muhammad Bashir.

It is pertinent to note that Judge Nasir Javed Rana had recently delivered the verdict in the Sara Inam murder case. The son of Ayaz Amir, Shahnawaz Amir, was given the death sentence in the grisly murder of his spouse Sarah Inam.
